What a find! Lovely city centre modern hotel. Very welcoming staff and very comfortable room. The spa was great. We had a fabulous stay and I hope we come back. I cannot recommend more highly. Especially as I forgot my phone charger and they posted it back to me the next day. Faultless service! Thank you!

Lovely stay at The Varsity, rooms very clean and spacious, love the decor. Short walking distance from Cambridge town centre. We used the Valet Parking which is approx 0.5 mile away from the hotel, we were reassured the parking was secure and we had no problems with this. We enjoy gorgeous cocktail's in bar, service was a-little slow considering the bar wasn’t busy , and I had to ask several times if our ordered was received. However Roger who was working in the bar was fab and kept us entertained. I was not sure if it was just our room or others but twice in the night the heating seemed to kick in which was very loud waking us both up. Otherwise a great stay.

A comfy room in a boutique-ish hotel, well-located and central. Excellent breakfast in the sixth floor restaurant with great views. Staff are courteous and helpful. Access as standard to the gym and spa next door (not tied to checkout time) which didn't disappoint, for a relaxing Sunday. Here are the niglies. It wasn't clear we received the room we'd booked as the desk staff don't use the same names as the website..turned out a "Fellows" is a king double. Other websites use other terms. Not dissimilar from a premierinn room except nicer wallpaper. Our room didn't have good views..unlike the marketing pics..which, dispite not guaranteed, was a bit disappointing. The heating was difficult..and clearly not working until we called someone who flipped a switch downstairs. The rooftop was closed to normal paying guests. Still a nice experience although cheaper is available. Hence overall a 4

One can say that the hotel is well situated, that the rooms are cosy and perfectly clean, that the breakfast fits the high standards... But I have given 5 stars for the staff. Be it during the day or at night, at the breakfast or at the spa, during the cleaning sessions, the staff is always smiling, eager to make your stay as perfect as possible. I stayed several days and it is rare to find such a dedicated team. They simply know how to make you feel really as a guest and do it every day, any time.

Lovely room, friendly courteous staff. Terrific breakfast with wonderful views from 6th floor. Free bike hire and access to spa/gym. Reasonable room rate. Recommended, thank you.

It’s a central and nice hotel, offering comfy rooms, together with a lot of facilities including gym, spa! The rooms are clean and some of them look onto the street which is great. It’s located in a very nice spot, where you can walk the city. You can do punting by the river just 5 mins again. The hotel is clean, rooms are amazing, the rooftop restaurant & bar is amazing and the staff is so nice. There is a nice view on the rooftop restaurant. We went there for a tesm retreat, corporate event and they did their best to accommodate us amazingly. In means of pricing, it’s a bit pricey but reasonable compared to their quality service. Highly recommended!

Just returned from a fantastic stay at the Varsity. Great central Cambridge location, excellent dinner at the Steakhouse restaurant - service and staff were great. The hotel has a spa with sauna, steam, jacuzzi and gym with classes. We loved the view of the river from the jacuzzi - highly recommend this hotel if you’re planning a trip to Cambridge. I had a fantastic stay, the staff is top notch, very polite and makes you feel valued. We stayed in a suite and it was so great. The was really big and very comfy. Bath and shower in bathroom with everything needed like body lotion , shampoo etc. you also have access to the gym and spa which has a jacuzzi and steam room. Good breakfast too. And extra points for the bar which serves amazing cocktails. I would highly recommend this place.
